Your privacy is important to us. It is SeatMax’s policy to respect your privacy and comply with any applicable law and regulation regarding any personal information we may collect about you, including across our website, https://www.getseatmax.com, and other sites we own and operate.

Personal information is any information about you which can be used to identify you. This includes information about you as a person (such as name and email address), your devices, payment details, and even information about how you use a website or online service.

In the event our site contains links to third-party sites and services, please be aware that those sites and services have their own privacy policies. After following a link to any third-party content, you should read their posted privacy policy information about how they collect and use personal information. This Privacy Policy does not apply to any of your activities after you leave our site.

Services We Use to Store Data

SeatMax uses the following services to perform its operation:

  • Supabase for database and authentication. You can view their privacy policy at supabase.com/privacy.
  • Vercel for hosting. You can view their privacy policy at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
  • Stripe for payment processing. You can view their privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
  • Third-party flight data providers, which may include AeroDataBox, AviationStack, FlightAware, and others. These providers may change at any time. We send flight numbers and dates to look up arrival information. You can view their respective privacy policies on their websites.
  • Slack for optional notifications (only if your organization connects Slack). You can view their privacy policy at slack.com/privacy-policy.
  • Twilio for SMS/text message notifications, including phone number verification, ride assignment updates, landing confirmations, and group ride coordination. You can view their privacy policy at twilio.com/en-us/legal/privacy.

All data is stored fully encrypted at rest and encrypted in transit.

Information We Collect

Information we collect includes both information you knowingly and actively provide us when using or participating in any of our services and promotions, and any information automatically sent by your devices in the course of accessing our products and services.

Log Data

When you visit our website, our servers may automatically log the standard data provided by your web browser. It may include your device’s Internet Protocol (IP) address, your browser type and version, the pages you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on each page, and other details about your visit.

Additionally, if you encounter certain errors while using the site, we may automatically collect data about the error and the circumstances surrounding its occurrence. Please be aware that while this information may not be personally identifying by itself, it may be possible to combine it with other data to personally identify individual persons.

Personal Information

We may ask for personal information which may include one or more of the following:

  • Name
  • Email
  • Phone number
  • Organization or company name
  • Flight details (airline, flight number, dates)
  • Payment information (processed securely by Stripe — we do not store card numbers)

SMS/Text Messaging

SeatMax uses SMS (text messaging) to communicate with riders who have provided a verified phone number. We may send you text messages for the following purposes:

  • Phone number verification (one-time code to confirm your number)
  • Ride assignment notifications (when you are assigned to or reassigned to a shared ride)
  • Landing confirmation requests (after your flight lands, to coordinate your ride group)
  • Group ride coordination (connecting you with your co-riders and ride captain)

Your phone number is stored securely and is only used for the purposes described above. We do not sell, share, or use your phone number for marketing or promotional purposes. Your phone number may be shared with co-riders in your assigned ride group only if your event organizer has enabled the “riders see phones” setting.

You may opt out of SMS notifications at any time by replying STOP to any message from SeatMax. You may also update your contact preferences in your account settings. Reply HELP for assistance. Message frequency varies based on event activity. Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Legitimate Reasons for Processing Your Personal Information

We only collect and use your personal information when we have a legitimate reason for doing so. In which instance, we only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary to provide our services to you.

Collection and Use of Information

We may collect personal information from you when you do any of the following on our website:

  • Register for an account
  • Use a mobile device or web browser to access our content
  • Contact us via email, social media, or on any similar technologies

We may collect, hold, use, and disclose information for the following purposes, and personal information will not be further processed in a manner that is incompatible with these purposes:

  • to provide you with our platform’s core features and services
  • to enable you to customize or personalize your experience of our website
  • to contact and communicate with you
  • for internal record keeping and administrative purposes

We do not aim any of our products or services directly at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information about children under 13.

We use “cookies” to manage your authentication session and keep you logged in securely. These are essential cookies required for the service to function. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

Changes to This Policy

At our discretion, we may change our privacy policy to reflect updates to our business processes, current acceptable practices, or legislative or regulatory changes. If we decide to change this privacy policy, we will post the changes here at the same link by which you are accessing this privacy policy.

If required by law, we will get your permission or give you the opportunity to opt in to or opt out of, as applicable, any new uses of your personal information.
